MadMouser Graphics provides design, media and e-marketing services for small businesses for both print and web. The emphasis is on branding: using the same style and design for everything associated with the business, including stationery, signage, web sites, rack cards, brochures, ads, etc. Laura Kreuzer is the driving force behind MadMouser. A native of Los Angeles, she moved to Knoxville in 2000 from Columbus, Ga., where she was a sports reporter at the local newspaper. Ms. Kreuzer spent her freshman and sophomore years in college in the humanities program at Scripps College in Claremont, Calif. As a junior, she transferred to American University in Washington, D.C. to pursue her passion for politics. She graduated from the School of Government with a degree in Political Science with a minor in Public Relations. She worked for lobbyists and trade associations in Washington and was on the national staff of several presidential campaigns, including Jimmy Carter's traveling staff in 1976. That was followed by a brief appointment to the White House staff. She then accepted a political appointment at the Agency for International Development and edited Agenda Magazine. She left AID to work on a presidential commission on Social Security. In between campaigns and political jobs, she worked for a variety of trade publications as writer, editor and designer. Deciding she liked campaigning better than running the goverment, she abandoned politics to pursue her other passion: sports. She accepted a desk job in Sports at the Washington Post and worked there for 10 years, before accepting an Assistant Sports Editor job in Columbus, Ga. A weekend covering a NASCAR race at Atlanta led her to abandon the desk and switch to a reporting position, covering auto racing in all its forms as well as a variety of recreational sports. She left the paper to covering dirt late model racing for Speedvision's website, which at the time was run by The Sporting News. She traveled all over the country covering grassroots racing, writing and photographing for the web as well as for specialty publications including Speedway Illustrated, Dirt Late Model and Racer. In addition, she wrote several articles for The Sporting News' NASCAR Yearbook. She is working on a book on dirt track racing. Changes in ownership at Speedvision and Sporting News left dirt racing in the dust. While reactivating MadMouser, Ms. Kreuzer accepted a fulltime job with Atomic Motor Speedway in Lenoir City to see the sport from the other side of the desk. She set up the website from scratch and created integrated design packages that helped build brand recognition for major events. She also handled the media and built up strong contacts with area papers, particularly the smaller papers and media outlets in East Tennessee. Ms. Kreuzer returned to MadMouser fulltime in January. Her depth and breadth of experience in all aspects of design, media relations, writing, editing and marketing allows her to provide quality at small business prices. |
